This will be our third Samstock, and our first mainstage appearance. The festival runs from Sept 26-28 at the A&P Showgrounds, Mosgiel, and we will be performing on the saturday night. Also performing are Rapture Ruckus, and Australia's Alabaster Box, and many other talented acts. It would be awesome to see you there. 21-Sept-07 - EP Release Date announced...We will be releasing our new EP "Inside Out" on October 27 at the Grey Lynn Library Hall. More details closer to the date - but keep the night free for your first chance to pick up the new EP. 9-Aug-07 - New EP on the way...We have finished recording and are now onto all the other things that need to happen to get this new cd into your hands. We are stoked with the cd and believe you will all notice the step up since the last one. We expect to release the EP (which we are calling 'Inside Out') in October. Apologies that we haven't updated you in a while but that's simply because we have been busy getting songs ready for recording. We have spent a few days in the studio with Producer/Engineer Nic Manders (Brooke Fraser, Catchafire, Parachute Band) and things are starting to sound real nice! The song 'Oblivious' has been chosen to feature on the upcoming Detonator II compilation album from Kickstart records. As well as Calling Elijah the album features Kiwi rock, punk and hardcore bands Trigger Theory, theendings, Mumsdollar, The Chase, One Man's View, Arms Reach, Chamberlain, Radiator, Lt Funk, Season Pass, Brinc, Moped and Zebulun. Tune into SkyTV this saturday night (Nov 4th) to see Calling Elijah. The boys will be playing four songs at various stages between 7pm and 11pm. This is a first for the band and they are excited to be a part of the evening. Calling Elijah have been in the South Island for most of September. The time south included time for Marc to get married and go on honeymoon with his new wife Dana...Congratulations Marc and Dana...at the end of which they boys met up in Dunedin and performed four times in four days, including two spots at Samstock Festival. Now back in Auckland, Calling Elijah are finalising details for their upcoming EP release, and are readying themselves for a number of gigs over the October/November period, including performing live on Shine TV...keep up to date by checking out the gigs page...we look forward to seeing you soon. 6-Sept-06 - Recording is complete! That's right...last night the boys were back in the studio laying down the last vocals, keys and guitar tracks for the upcoming EP. It is sounding uniquely Calling Elijah with a few surprises thrown in..."Like what?" I hear you ask...well if we told you it wouldn't be a surprise would it? But we can say that producer Evan Cooper has done a fantastic job and you won't be disappointed. Stay posted...release dates coming soon 29-Aug-06 - EP getting closer... Calling Elijah's song 'Dear God' is getting it's final mix at the moment and is sounding sweet. The boys went back into the studio over the weekend and laid the base for the EP's remaining five tracks, so it won't be long until the EP is finally here!! There is a little recording yet to do and then the post recording process and then it will be release time!! Exciting times, we will keep you posted 16-Aug-06 - Homegrown. Calling Elijah are being interviewed by Jon E Clist on the Homegrown Show on Radio Rhema on Saturday night. The show is at 6pm and Jon E will talk extensively to the boys as well as playing some of their Demo tracks and discussing their upcoming EP release. That's right...the boys spent the whole day yesterday in the recording studio laying down tracks for their 1st single...Dear God. The song is yet to be mixed but it's already sounding hot and Calling Elijah are excited to finally have a song for release. Calling Elijah have been officially accepted to perform at Parachute07 music festival at Mystery Creek, so keep an ear out for when tickets go on sale and make sure you snap them up for your chance to see Calling Elijah rock Parachute! 5-July-06 - Exciting times ahead. The Calling Elijah boys are excited to announce that they have booked studio time in early August to record their first single. Calling Elijah are looking forward to a big month with nine gigs in the space of three weeks. Calling Elijah is excited to be involved in two camps over the Easter period. They will begin at the Alive Easter Camp at Totara Springs in Matamata, before heading to Easter Camp 2006 - Mystery Creek, where they are heavily involved. Their involvement includes items, some longer sets, and a songwriting workshop, as well as time for fun and games!!! 19-Feb-06 - Auckland rock act Mozelee has ended after 4 years in the New Zealand music scene. Their solid rock riffs and gripping melodies won them a good following, and led them to record a successful self titled EP and two quality music videos. But for the Mozelee faithful all is not lost...lead singer Marc Hamilton has teamed up with long time Mozelee friend and rapper AndyD to form a new, exciting project...Calling Elijah |
